These Terms of Use govern your use of the PickLocal app and the picklocal.uk website, operated by Whitecherry Business Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”), a UK company. By creating an account or using PickLocal, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
WHO CAN USE PICKLOCAL
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You’re responsible for keeping your
account secure and for everything that happens under it.
WHAT PICKLOCAL IS
PickLocal is a platform that connects people with surplus home-grown produce to neighbours
nearby who’d like to collect it. We provide the app and the connection between users – the
actual exchange happens directly between the two of you. PickLocal is not a party to that exchange.
YOUR LISTINGS AND MESSAGES
You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions and messages you post, but you grant PickLocal a licence to display them within the app so other users can see them. Listing text and photos are automatically checked before they go live, but this is a safety measure, not a guarantee – you’re responsible for making sure what you post is accurate and not misleading, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate.
COMMUNITY CONDUCT
PickLocal is built around real accounts and trust between neighbours. Don’t harass or abuse other users, post spam, or list anything illegal to give away or sell. If something goes wrong, you can report a listing or conversation directly in the app – reports are reviewed, and we can remove listings or suspend accounts that break these terms.
MEETUPS AND COLLECTIONS
Arranging a time and place to collect produce happens through the app, but the meetup itself happens in person, between you and the other user. PickLocal does not vet users, meeting locations, or the produce being exchanged. You take part in meetups and collections at your own risk – as with any exchange with someone you haven’t met before, we’d recommend arranging to meet in a safe, public or well-lit location where practical.
PRODUCE AND FOOD SAFETY
Produce listed on PickLocal is grown and offered by individual users, not inspected, tested, or warranted by PickLocal in any way. We make no guarantees about the quality, freshness, safety, or allergen content of any produce exchanged through the app. Use your own judgement before eating anything you collect, the same as you would with produce from any other informal source.
PURCHASES
PickLocal offers an optional ad-free subscription (billed monthly, auto-renewing until cancelled) and an optional one-time featured listing boost (a single non-renewing purchase lasting 7 days). Both are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system – you can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings, and refunds are handled under Apple’s own refund policies, not ours.
ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND DELETION
We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, particularly around harassment, spam, or unsafe/illegal listings. You can delete your account and its data at any time – see our Privacy Policy, or email privacy@picklocal.uk.
OUR LIABILITY
PickLocal is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Whitecherry Business Solutions Limited is not liable for disputes between users, the condition or safety of any produce exchanged, or anything arising from an in-person meetup arranged through the app. PickLocal facilitates the connection; what happens at collection is between the two people involved.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
If we make significant changes to these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
