PickLocal is operated by Whitecherry Business Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”), a UK company.

This policy covers both the PickLocal app and the picklocal.uk website.

WHAT WE COLLECT

Account details – your name and email address.

Location – your home postcode and/or a listing’s postcode. We use this only to place listings approximately on the map; PickLocal deliberately jitters listing locations, so your exact address is never shown to other users.

Photos – any photo you add to a listing or your profile.

Messages – the content of messages you send through the app to arrange a collection.

Reports – if you report a listing or conversation, we store the reason, any detail you add, and who submitted it.

Purchase status – whether you hold an ad-free subscription or have boosted a listing as featured, and the associated transaction ID. Payment itself is handled by the App Store and RevenueCat – we never see or store your card details.

Push notification token – a device identifier used to deliver notifications, if you have them turned on. You can turn these off at any time in the app’s Notification settings.

Sign in with Apple identifier – a unique ID Apple provides when you sign in. If you choose to hide your email from us, we receive an Apple-generated relay address instead of your real one.

Newsletter signups (website only) – if you register your interest on picklocal.uk, we collect your email address for that purpose alone, via a separate, consent-based opt-in (double opt-in confirmation email). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.

WHY WE COLLECT IT

To show you produce listings near you, let hosts and pickers arrange a collection, keep the app safe (listing text and photos are automatically checked before they go live, and reports are reviewed), deliver the purchases and notifications you’ve asked for, and – for the website mailing list – let you know when PickLocal launches.

WHO CAN SEE IT

Your exact postcode/address is never shown to other users – only an approximate, jittered location. Your name is visible to other users on listings you host and requests you make. Your email address is never shown to other users.

Any review someone leaves about you (star rating and comment) is visible to anyone who views your profile, not just the person who left it.

WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

Apple – Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery (APNs), and processing App Store purchases.

RevenueCat – manages subscription and purchase entitlements on our behalf; they receive your purchase/transaction data, not your PickLocal account password or listing content.

Google AdMob – shows ads in the free version of the app. Ads are shown in non-personalised mode

– AdMob does not receive your Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) or use your data for cross-app tracking.

Sentry – if the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, technical details (what went wrong,which screen, device/app version) are sent to Sentry so we can fix it. This doesn’t include your listing or message content.

Our hosting providers – the app’s backend and your account/listing data run on a UK-based server(Fasthosts). The picklocal.uk website and newsletter signups run on reseller hosting via HostGator, a US company – this means website/newsletter data may be processed in the US.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED

Your account, listing and message data is stored on UK-based servers. If you sign up for ournewsletter on the website, that email address is processed via US-based hosting (HostGator) – see “Who we share it with” above.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

For as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account data – see below.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing privacy@picklocal.uk (in the app, Profile > Privacy & Data > Request account deletion sends this for you automatically).

CHILDREN

PickLocal is not intended for children under 16.
